After a hike through snow-covered forests or a gondola ride up the mountain, winter sports enthusiasts look forward to a speedy toboggan run. There are twelve toboggan runs in the Stubai that have been awarded the Tyrolean natural toboggan run seal of approval. Combined with a length of 43 kilometers of unbridled tobogganing fun, the Stubai Valley is the largest tobogganing arena in Tyrol. From a means of transportation to a fun leisure activity
The sledge (called a toboggan in Austria) was a practical means of transportation in traditional agriculture. At the beginning of the 19th century, tobogganing became popular as a sport. Today, a brisk toboggan ride is an indispensable part of a winter vacation in the Stubai Valley! Tobogganing is not only an activity that everyone can take part in, but it is also a winter sport that is a lot of fun. Is it the fascination of speed, the joy of movement or the atmosphere that arises during a convivial stop at a mountain hut that makes a toboggan run so incomparable? Try out this sociable sport for yourself!
There are a total of 14 rental points in the Stubai. Toboggans can be hired either in sports stores in Neustift, Fulpmes and Mieders, at the three cable cars Schlick 2000, Elferlifte and Serlesbahnen or directly at most of the huts at the start of the toboggan runs.
Tobogganing at night is a particularly atmospheric experience. Four runs in the Stubai are floodlit and the huts and inns are open for a fun evening with friends.
You can take the cable cars or the toboggan cab to the start.
Sports enthusiasts sometimes also choose the route on foot.
